Iran cedes to the Philippines at the 2022 AVC Cup for Women

IRAN has been drawn in Pool A along with the Philippines, South Korea, Vietnam and China. Team Melli Banovan won its first match 3-0 over South Korea but fell to Vietnam in its second match. China will play Iran after that.

The Philippines defeated Iran’s women’s volleyball team on Wednesday during the 2022 Asian Women’s Volleyball Cup, also known as the 2022 AVC Cup for Women.

Japan, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Chinese Taipei, and Australia make up Pool B. 

The Iranian women’s team recently took home a silver medal from the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games under the direction of Italian coach Alessandra Campedelli. 

The Asian Cup, a biannual international volleyball competition put on by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and Philippine National Volleyball Federation, will see its seventh iteration in 2022. (PNVF). 

From August 21 to August 29, the competition is being conducted in Pasig, Philippines.

Scores per set are as follows:

First set 25 – 19

Second set 25 – 22

Third set 20 – 25

Final set 25 – 14

Win goes to the Philippines.
