MANILA, Philippines – In Game One of the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference match for bronze on Sunday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, F2 Logistics overcame a sluggish start to defeat PLDT 20-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-17.

After two hours and nine minutes of play, the Cargo Movers defeated the High Speed Hitters thanks in part to Kianna Dy, who finished with a game-high 20 points on 15 attacks, three blocks, and two aces, and Aby Marano, who scored 19 points on 14 attacks and five large blocks.

To lead F2 Logistics’ block party, which saw them record a conference-high 18 blocks, Ara Galang had her finest game of the conference so far, tallying a game-high six blocks.

Galang finished with 13 points, which was her best performance in this event, along with 18 fantastic digs and 18 stellar catches.

F2 Logistics battled back from a set down to win the following three sets against a PLDT team that had forced Petro Gazz to play three games in the semifinals.

Galang hit two aces in a rapid five-to-nothing run that helped the Cargo Movers pull away from the High Speed Hitters and win the game with just a two-point lead (17-15) remaining in the fourth set.

After missing the team’s first two conferences, former head coach Ramil De Jesus returned to the sidelines, giving F2 Logistics a big boost.

Regine Diego, head coach of the Cargo Movers, expressed her contentment with the return of Ramil de Jesus in their recent game. Diego stated that it was acceptable for the team to make early adjustments in the game, as they could easily modify the situation. Coach Ramil’s presence was essential for the team, as he provided guidance during the game. Diego also expressed her joy in having him back on the sidelines, emphasizing his valuable contribution to the team.

While Jovy Prado scored 13 points and had 12 outstanding receptions, Jules Samonte, who filled in for the injured Mean Mendrez, and Dell Palomata led the way for PLDT with 14 points each.

Mendrez wasn’t introduced until the very end of the fourth set after suffering an injured right ankle in their Game Three defeat to the Angels.
