The Legends League Cricket 2022 got underway with a win for the India Maharajas against the Asia Lions. The matches come thick and fast in this league and the Asia Lions are going to be playing this next match as well. Some of the biggest players of yesteryear are competing in this league and it seems to be played in quite a competitive spirit as well. From a betting point of view, we think it is important to remember that a number of changes can often be made to playing eleven from one match to the other as teams try to give their entire squad a chance. This is something that can affect the strength and balance of the team. WG VS AL TEAM PREVIEWS WORLD GIANTS The World Giants squad is a truly elite squad made up of some of the best ever players to have played the game. Of course, these players have all been retired from the game for quite a while and we find recency is one of the best parameters to look at when you are judging the players. For example, Brendon Taylor and Brad Haddin are both a part of the team. Haddin may have played for a champion Australian side but Taylor was playing international cricket until recently and would definitely be a better bet to perform. Kevin Pietersen, Owais Shah, Corey Anderson, Darren Sammy, and Kevin O’Brien are the big names in the batting lineup. We don’t rate this batting lineup too highly and apart from Pietersen, the rest could struggle. Imran Tahir, Morne Morkel, and Brett Lee are all going to be part of the bowling attack. Once again, you take Tahir out of this and the lineup is all comprised of players that have been out of the game for a very long time. We think the World Giants are being a bit over-valued on the basis of what these players have done in the past and not what they are likely to do in this tournament. ASIA LIONS Asia Lions are going to be playing their second match in succession and we expect to see them perform better in this match. Having players like Misbah Ul Haq, Mohammad Hafeez, and Kamran Akmal is a huge advantage since they were all involved in top-flight cricket till recently. In fact, Kamran Akmal will be playing the PSL this season as well. Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga are both capable of scoring runs at this stage of their cricketing career as well. The batting lineup of the Asia Lions is stronger than the World Giants. Shoaib Akhtar played the first match for the Asia Lions and we are not sure if he will be able to play the second one. The bowling attack for the Asia Lions appears to be a bit weak as most of the players that feature in it are long retired. Perhaps giving Mohammad Hafeez more of a central role may be the way to go in the upcoming matches. PITCH AND CONDITIONS The conditions were terrific for cricket and the same should be the case for the second match. There is no rain predicted and the weather was actually pleasant. The pitch was good to bat on and the outfield will continue to be absolutely lightning fast.
