If something isn’t broken, don’t repair it. Matchroom Boxing confirmed today that Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin’s trilogy fight on September 17 will take place at T-Mobile Arena, which hosted the pair’s first two encounters in 2017 and 2018.

The presale of tickets begins on Friday, June 24, with the full sale following on Monday, June 27.

T-Mobile Arena has been effectively Alvarez’s (57-2-2, 39 KO) home field since he knocked out Amir Khan in the venue’s seventh event since it opened in 2016. It hosted his victory against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., both Golovkin fights, his showdown with Daniel Jacobs, and his most recent loss to Dmitry Bivol in May.

In comparison, Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KO) has only contested in Las Vegas three times in his 16-year professional career.

With a date and place established in stone, we can certainly anticipate the start of an undercard in the near future. We will keep you updated.
