TNT, PBA standouts from stalwarts

MANILA, Philippines – In Friday’s 2024 Batang PBA 11-Under Tournament at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig, PBA Greats made a comeback as PBA Stalwarts and Talk ‘N Text maintained their unbeaten streaks. 

Thanks to Neil Jared Pose’s 14 points, the Stalwarts defeated NLEX 57-54 to win Group A for the third time in a row. 

The Stalwarts, who had earlier defeated Meralco, 74-56, and Northport, 75-50, to maintain their group lead, added 11 points from Donmarc Bruce Toscano. 

TNT defeated Phoenix 62-45 to maintain their lead in Group B. 

Theon Cruz scored 13 points and Thiago scored 14 for the 3-0 Tropang Giga, who had already defeated PBA Greats 64-52 and Terrafirma 77-59.

In the other 11-under game, PBA Greats defeated the sluggish San Miguel team 72-47 to storm into the winner’s circle. 

With a 1-1 record in Group B, the Greats, together with Terrafirma and Phoenix, shared second place with 15 points from Karim Abdul and 12 from Zigfrid Kian Hernandez.

In the 9-under matches, Converge defeated Blackwater in an exciting 42-40 opening triumph, while Ginebra defeated Magnolia, 60-46, to take the lead alone. 

With 12 points apiece, Jacco Rosuello and Nicole Gab Dapatnapo led the Gin Kings, who had previously defeated Blackwater (0-2) 46-24. 

With 17 points, Drake Nonato led the pace for Converge.
