SMB and Cavitex win their second games in the 14-Under division of the Batang PBA

MANILA, Philippines – In the 2023 Batang PBA on Monday at the Ynares Sports Arena, SAN Miguel and Cavitex remained unbeaten in the 14-Under division despite Blackwater Red President taking the 12-Under lead.

Francely Baldomino had 17 points, but the Batang Beermen upset Rain or Shine 59 to 56 thanks to a decisive run from the fivesome of Jerico Prince Derillo, Julian Myles Villano, John Nielle Bueno, Joe Mart Gil Labrador, and Yrros James Jongko.

The Batang Beermen broke a 26–all tie and surged ahead to win 43 to 32 with the fivesome’s 17 to 6 run in the third quarter.

In Group B of the 14-Under category, the victory gave SMB a 2 to 0 record.

In order to defeat Meralco 54 to 46 and earn its second victory in as many games in Group of the 14-Under category, Cavitex relied on Chester Tulabut (9 points) and Jazz Fher Ping (7 points).

The Blackwater Red President defeated Phoenix 61 to 48 in the 12-Under category thanks to 20 points from Eric Francis Castro, who also led the team.

In order to improve his record to 3 to 1, Castro received help from John Carlisle Buligan (15) and Harry Mostar (10).

When it came to Group C play in the 12-Under, The Blackwater Bossing defeated Purefoods with a score of 73 to 43 to finish the job.

 The Batang Bossing recorded their first victory in three games thanks to a deadly trio consisting of Rafael Lago Cheng (17), Tristan Eric Gimao (13), and AJ Shawne Fedillaga (13). (JBU)

Baldomino had 17 points, Villano had 9, Deillo had 8, Gamboa had 7, Villafrance had 4, Alcantara had 2, Bueno had 2, Labrador had 2, Jongko had 2, and Tonogan had 1, while De Guzman had 0 and Mesina had 0 and Batisatic had 0 for San Miguel.

Isada 15, Lopez 9, Meresen 9, Rato 6, De Leon 5, Cabantac 3, Ortega 2, Tinio 2, David 2, Ruggayan 0, Fernandez 0, Cruz 0, Rebao 0, Francisco 0 were the players in Rain or Shine 56.

14-11, 26-26, 43-32, and 59-56 are the quarter scores.

12-Under Second Game (Group C)

Fourth 12-Under (Group D) contest
