The PBA season kicks off June 5 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum. The annual Leo Awards honoring the previous season’s individual award winners gets the ball rolling followed by the opening ceremonies. For the first time, the League released a conference schedule in two years. San Miguel Beermen going up against NLEX. PBA first game will be at Ynares Antipolo at 3 o’clock in the afternoon June 10. It will be NLEX versus San Miguel Beermen. These two teams will be in their second game.  NLEX  made a 16-point deficit to defeat Terrafirma, 105-102, on Wednesday as Kevin Alas and Calvin Oftana, who played first game since coming back. NLEX already showed its perseverance by charging back from 16 points down at halftime.  San Miguel beat Phoenix Super LPG at 108-100, when June Mar Fajardo displayed impressive numbers with 24 points and 15 rebounds. Meanwhile, Road Warriors Oftana added complexity to the forefront of their team.  Beermen coach Leo Austria said he was glad that their pre-season preparations, with practically all healthy players present, immediately bore fruit right in their first game. “Once na natapos ‘yung SEA Games, June-Mar and MoTautuaa were able to get to the team to practice”, related to Austria. Still in search of their win, FiberXers franchise history after they dropped a 79-77 decision to Rain or Shine in the initial game of the Season. FiberXers assumed control in the first 24 minutes.  Another thirst for Victory are Hotshots after they lose to TNT at 78-72 on Sunday. On the other hand, Magnolia Chicken Timplados and Converge both aim a quick turnaround from a losing season as they mix up Friday in the PBA Philippine Cup. Magnolia went down to 78-72 loss endgame heroics by Jayson Castro for TNT while Converge came up short.
