Looks like Javee Mocon is staying for the long-term with Phoenix Super LPG after the swingman signed a three-year contract with the Fuel Masters. The agreement was sealed just hours after Mocon was traded from Rain or Shine. The PBA-approved move saw Mocon traded to Phoenix in exchange for Nic Demusis and the Fuel Masters’ first-round pick in the 2022 draft and the second-round pick for 2023. Phoenix Super LPG announced that Mocon signed the deal with the franchise an hour after the trade was confirmed. Mocon was Rain or Shine’s sixth overall pick during the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft.  During the 2021 PBA Governors’ Cup, Mocon averaged 11.09 points, 6.82 rebounds, and 3.09 assists per game, definitely a solid campaign. However, Rain or Shine had to put Mocon on the trading block ahead of the 2022-23 PBA Philippine Cup when he couldn’t agree with the franchise on the terms of the contract extension. Mocon expressed his gratitude to his former team on a post on Instagram, thanking the Elasto Painters for taking a chance “on a tweener.” He posted, “Thank you to Boss Raymond Yu and Boss Terry Que. To the whole management, coaching staff, and my teammates, the journey we went through these 3 years are truly memorable. All love from here! See you guys on the hardcourt.”
