No matter which team they root for, there are some NBA moments that fans will never forget. One such instance is Linsanity.

It wasn’t anticipated that Jeremy Lin would achieve much in the NBA. His name was not called in the 2010 NBA Draft after four seasons at Harvard. He then joined the Warriors on a partially guaranteed contract, but his rookie campaign was mostly inactive on the court.

Lin joined a Knicks squad in dire need of another guard after being released by both the Warriors and Rockets before his sophomore season. According to Lin, he was considered to be the “12th to 15th guy on the roster,” but after posting one of the most incredible streaks in NBA history early in the season, he became the talk of the sports world.

Put another way: It took Lin less than two years to go from being undrafted and sleeping on couches to being named one of Time’s most important people in the world. We have never seen anything like his ascension.

Inception of Linsanity: February 4, 2012. It’s unclear when Linsanity ended, but because he was at his peak through February 19, 2012, it is safe to assume that it did.

How comes those dates? Lin led the Knicks to eight victories over nine games after the team had a rough 2011 to 12 campaigns, going 8 to 15. The Knicks gained seven of those victories in a row to raise their record to.500.

Lin was a reserve versus the Nets, who were led by three-time All-Star Deron Williams, in the first of New York’s seven straight triumphs. At the time, Lin led the Knicks in assists with seven while scoring a career-high 25 points.

Lin guided the Knicks to victories over the Jazz and Wizards after defeating the Nets. The MVP shouts against the Jazz and the first dunk of his career against the Wizards were among his memorable plays in both games.

After the game, Bryant described Lin as having “played exceptionally well.” “If he continues to play the way he has the past three or four games, he played phenomenally.

“We examined the tapes on him and devised a plan we believed would work. However, “[it] didn’t work [to] knock down his jump shot, penetrate, and get past our guards into the paint.

Lin recovered against the Raptors on Valentine’s Day with 27 points and 11 assists after having his first difficult shooting night the day before against the Timberwolves.

In the team’s defeat against the Hornets, Lin struggled with mistakes, but he once more came back strongly, this time with 28 points and a career-high 14 assists against the defending champion Mavericks.

You may recall Lin’s clutch 3-pointer over Dirk Nowitzki that erupted Madison Square Garden into a frenzy.

Between February 4 and February 19 of the 2011–12 season, Lin appeared in nine games, averaging the following:

• 25.0 points per game

• 9.2 assists per game

• 3.8 rebounds per game

• 2.2 steals per game

• 5.9 turnovers per game

• 38.7 minutes per game

• 50.9 percent field goal shooting

• 33.3 percent 3-point shooting

• 70.8 percent free throw shooting

With the exception of one game, Lin averaged at least 20 points while registering four double-doubles.

Jeremy Lin’s subsequent to Linsanity, what happened to him?

Lin had a career-high 14.6 points per game average towards the end of the 2011–12 campaign. After the season, he began a two-year contract with the Rockets after signing an offer sheet that the Knicks declined to match. Later, Lin spent one season with the Lakers, one with the Hornets, and two with the Nets. His second season with the Nets only lasted one game due to a torn patella tendon that he sustained in the team’s season opener.

Lin played for both the Hawks and the Raptors during the 2018 to 2019 season. By becoming the first Asian-American athlete to win a title at the end of the season, he created history.

Lin has participated in the NBA G League and CBA in the last three years.
