The twin trip of Ysa Bakabak with Akari and The LaSallian

MANILA, Philippines – At one point or another, a lot of people who work in sports writing wanted to be elite athletes. But unexpected setbacks often cause them to reroute their objectives, making them concentrate on sports they had previously dreamed of dominating from a new angle. But Ysa Bakabak’s story goes in a different way.

In addition to being a writer for The LaSallian, Bakabak plays middle blocker for the Akari Chargers in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference. She has the opportunity to see the sports world both on and off the court thanks to her special position.

Bakabak was thrilled and thrilled about the prospect, pointing out that she hadn’t had the chance to play since college and had instead been covering games. Her excitement stems from her double background as a sports reporter and her impending comeback to competitive play.

The 21-year-old middle blocker thanked Coach Ramil for her training and the opportunity she has had despite being unable to play. She also valued the bravery and tenacity that enabled her to go forward and seize possibilities even when she was unable to play.

Bakabak is a model of organization and time management since she manages to juggle her roles as a professional volleyball player, a senior pre-med student at La Salle, and a campus writer. She was also not selected in the first PVL Draft.
