MANILA, Philippines – It was a great run in both the local and international volleyball scene for this Smasher. Alyssa Valdez, a star of Creamline, is still “hopeful” to make an early comeback to the Premier Volleyball League, which starts in February with the Open Conference.
The forthcoming Spikers’ Turf men’s volleyball event will be presided over by Valdez, who declined to provide a thorough report on her knee ailment, saying she would much rather concentrate on the competition right now.
“Spikers’ Turf is why I’m here. During the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum on Tuesday, Valdez said, “I want to talk about only that for now, but I’m actually doing well. I’m taking therapy right now, and I hope we’ll all see each other at the upcoming PVL conference, but we will see Spikers’ Turf first.”
During the third set of the Cool Smashers’ triumph over the Chery Tigo Crossovers in December, Valdez injured her right knee during a clumsy landing.
The former Ateneo star didn’t require knee surgery, per the most recent Creamline report.
We praise God that there won’t be any surgery required, the team proclaimed in a statement last month. “The administration would like to let everyone know that after examining the MRI results, doctors have recommended that our captain take several weeks off to rest and heal.
The Cool Smashers won bronze at the last conference, and Valdez was awarded the Best Outside Spiker title.
Prior to the PVL action stars, Valdez will have to oversee the Spikers’ Turf, which is set to begin on January 22.
