The PLDT High Speed Hitters finally broke through and carved their names into PVL history after outlasting the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in an electrifying five-set duel at the Mall of Asia Arena. The victory not only gave PLDT its long-awaited first title but also capped a flawless campaign in the PVL on Tour.

PLDT came out blazing, overwhelming Chery Tiggo with sharp attacks and solid floor defense to take the first two sets, both ending at 25–17. At that point, it seemed like the High Speed Hitters were headed for a quick sweep. But the Crossovers had other plans. Banking on their resilience and firepower, Chery Tiggo roared back to steal the third set, 25–19, and then edged PLDT in a nail-biting fourth frame, 26–24, to tie the match at two sets apiece.

With the momentum shifting, the pressure was on PLDT. Yet instead of folding, the High Speed Hitters rose to the challenge. Veterans Majoy Baron and Mika Reyes stamped their presence at the net, combining for crucial points that pushed PLDT to an early lead in the deciding set. From there, the team’s composure and teamwork shone through. Kianna Dy and Kiesha Bedonia contributed clutch attacks, widening the gap until PLDT reached championship point. A decisive block sealed the deal, giving them the set 15–5 and the crown they had long been chasing.

The triumph was extra sweet for PLDT, as it marked the end of years of frustration and near misses. More than just a single victory, it represented growth, chemistry, and the payoff of perseverance. Sweeping the tournament with an unbeaten 8–0 record, the High Speed Hitters proved they are no longer a team on the rise—they are a team built to win.

For Chery Tiggo, the loss was heartbreaking, especially after clawing their way back from a two-set deficit. Still, their grit in forcing a decider showed they remain a dangerous contender in the league.

In the end, this showdown was more than just a championship match—it was a showcase of character. PLDT’s poise under pressure carried them to glory, and with the Invitational Conference on the horizon, the rest of the PVL has officially been put on notice: the High Speed Hitters are here to stay.
