LONDON, England – Although they are regarded as this season’s favorites, Liverpool has only won the title once in the last seven Premier League seasons when they were in first place on December 25.

English Premier League chart-toppers for Christmas On Boxing Day, Liverpool is the clear favorite to defeat struggling Leicester City.

In the meantime, both crisis-plagued Manchester teams would look for a festive boost, with United traveling to Wolverhampton Wanderers and faltering champions City visiting Everton.

In-form Arsenal would fancy their chances against relegation-threatened Ipswich Town tomorrow, even without the injured Bukayo Saka, while second-place Chelsea would host Fulham.

Players from Liverpool gather at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London just before Sunday’s English Premier League soccer match versus Tottenham Hotspur begins.

After suffering a crushing 6-3 loss to Liverpool, Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur will have a difficult task against the soaring Nottingham Forest.

Liverpool would want to make it matter after taking the lead on Christmas Day for the first time since the 2020–2021 campaign.

They have only won the title once in the last seven top-flight campaigns in which they have attended the summit on December 25.

After two painful draws, Arne Slot’s team triumphed over Spurs on Sunday to get back to winning ways.

With one game remaining, they lead Chelsea by four points. Given that Mohamed Salah is having a purple streak, it would be shocking if they made a mistake against Leicester at home.

The Egypt international is the only player in Premier League history to reach double digits in goals (15) and assists (11) before Christmas.

After winning their first game under new manager Ruud van Nistelrooy earlier this month, Leicester has only managed one point from their last three games while giving up nine goals.

After returning to the top flight this season, the leaky Foxes are only two points clear of the relegation zone and haven’t won at Anfield since 2000.

After Arsenal defeated Crystal Palace 5-1 on Saturday, a jubilant Mikel Arteta declared that the Premier League title race was “on.”

Saka’s walking away at Selhurst Park, though, was a gloomy cloud. The England winger is expected to miss a significant amount of time due to a hamstring injury.

Saka has scored nine goals and supplied thirteen assists in all competitions this season, so it is a blow to Arteta to lose his most effective attacking weapon at a time when Arsenal is regaining their form.

The manager of Arsenal, who currently sit third in the Premier League standings, Arteta, stated, “It’s going to be a really good exercise for all of us to think about ways to overcome another challenge, because we’ve already had a lot in the season.”

Gabriel Martinelli is one among Arteta’s many offensive options, but the 23-year-old Saka brings something special to the table.

More than 40 years after their last involvement in Europe’s top club competition, Nottingham Forest fans are giddy with excitement as they hope to return to the UEFA Champions League. The present team and supporters alike continue to draw inspiration from Forest’s illustrious past, which includes back-to-back European championships in 1979 and 1980 under the renowned Brian Clough.

Forest is in a good position going into their game against Tottenham Hotspur. With an outstanding run of play that has seen them win seven of their past ten games, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team has surged to fourth place in the Premier League standings. Hopes of finishing in the top four and earning a desired position in the Champions League the next season have been rekindled by this comeback.

Despite the fact that Forest hasn’t taken home a major trophy since 1990, their success this season has been largely attributed to their defensive prowess. With less goals given up than any other team save Liverpool and Arsenal, they have one of the league’s most stingy defenses. But they still need to work on their goal-scoring.

Nuno, the former Spurs manager, is aware of the difficulty that awaits Forest when they play Tottenham. With Forest looking to solidify their position in the league, his comeback to play his former team adds an intriguing element to the match.
