ARSENAL: Nicolas Pepe, a club record acquisition for Arsenal, will soon go on loan to Nice.

Nice and Arsenal have reached an agreement for Nicolas Pepe to join on a season-long loan.

The 27 year old Ivory Coast international’s contract does not provide the Ligue 1 club the opportunity to make the transfer permanent.

The last elements are being worked out, and it is anticipated that it will be finished very soon.

Nicolas Pepe, an Ivory Coast international, played at the Emirates and scored 27 goals in 112 games for Arsenal in 2019, for a club-record fee of a whopping £72 million.

Pepe, who joined Arsenal from Lille for a club-record £72 million in 2019, has two years left on his contract and has made 112 appearances for the Gunners while scoring 27 goals.

Insight on this agreement

The most expensive player in Arsenal history, Nicolas Pepe arrived but left with little of an impact. The club’s most recent hiring process was specifically tailored to meet Mikel Arteta’s desires. Pepe serves as a memory of how things were previously.

In 2019, Edu had just been hired to take over Sven Mislintat’s position as technical director at Arsenal, but Raul Sanllehi, the club’s former head of football, was still in charge of hiring new players, and there was a definite rift between him and manager Unai Emery.

Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace was the Spanish player’s chosen offensive target. Instead, the club dropped a jaw-dropping £72 million on a player he wasn’t even interested in.

With 16 goals in 80 Premier League games, Pepe would only ever display glimmers of his potential in England, and it soon became evident that Arteta, like Emery, was not persuaded.

In an interview with Sky Sports in November 2019, Emery said of the Ivorian that he needs to “be more demanding of himself,” and Arteta concurred.

In the end, he failed to impress either management, both in terms of his personality and playing manner. He is a remnant of a time that Arsenal has moved past as he returns to France, albeit on loan.

Arsenal agree to loan Pepe to Nice of France as Arteta has no intentions for the failed striker.

On a recent confirmation,  Nicolas Pepe, an Arsenal reject, will spend the season on loan with Nice.

The winger will return to France on a one-year loan, with no option for Nice to purchase at the end of the agreement.

The winger, who has made 112 appearances for Arsenal and scored 27 goals, recently declared he was “determined” to fight for his future at the Emirates despite numerous offers to leave.

Arsenal must now concentrate on finding a replacement. It’s fine to let Pepe leave, but they require a replacement to support Bukayo Saka, who is already overworked, on the right side.

On a similar change,  Manchester United signs a midfielder from Real Madrid for whopping £70 million

CASIMIRO said his final goodbyes to Real and was introduced as a United player on the field in preparation for their Monday Night Football matchup with Liverpool.

Casemiro has signed a four-year contract with a further 12-month option at Old Trafford, and Manchester United paid Real Madrid an initial £60 million plus £10 million in add-ons for him. The Brazilian was introduced before the Monday Night Football matchup with Liverpool.

In a £70 million deal, Manchester United has officially announced the acquisition of Casemiro from Real Madrid. Erik ten Hag has called the Brazilian midfielder “THE cement between the stones.”

Casemiro however clarifies, it is not about the money

“If it was about money I would have left four or five years ago. Those people who think that are wrong, they don’t know me at all.” – Casemiro against the speculations

Before leaving for Manchester United, Casemiro delivered a tearful farewell speech to Real Madrid.

The Brazilian claimed during his final press conference with Real Madrid that money was not the reason for his decision to join United. The 30-year-old also claimed that he had joined “the biggest squad in the world” after nine years with Real.
