By forcing the NA DPC into a three-way tiebreaker, Evil Geniuses defeated Quincy Crew 2-0 to maintain their chances of being accepted into the PGL Arlington Major.

It’s a well-known proverb that the phrase “when the going gets tough, the tough get going” also applies to the world of esports. In order to maintain their chances of competing in their home DPC Major, the Arlington Major in Texas, USA, Evil Geniuses upset an unbeaten Quincy Crew 2-0 when they most needed it.

Evil Geniuses faced the very real possibility of missing out on qualifying for the PGL Arlington Major despite having a 5-1 record going into their series against Quincy Crew in Division I of the NA DPC League. The season’s surprise team, nouns, defeated EG in their opening series of the DPC Tour 3 with a score of 6-1. If EG had lost to QC, their final score would have been 5-2, which would have put them behind QC and nouns. However, EG arrived ready.

Evil Geniuses vs Quincy Crew

Game 1 ended with a final score of 18-3 for EG and took just under 29 minutes to finish. Position 5 Sven was an attempt by Quincy Crew that didn’t really work out. The Quincy Crew didn’t play the game at all.

Game 2 was totally different from Game 1! Till the very end, it was a close call that could have gone either way. Just minutes before the game, Quincy Crew really led EG by 9,000 net worth, but EG was able to make the crucial play of spotting Zeus in the trees and taking him out. The EG sensed an opportunity to overthrow the throne since he lacked buyback. Before this series, Quincy Crew had not lost a single game, but on this particular day, they were simply unable to compete with Evil Geniuses.

“THREE-WAY TIEBREAKER IT IS! #DPC

As @EvilGeniuses win their last match this season vs

@Quincy_Crew. This now puts EG, QC &

@nounsesports at a tied #1 spot! 😱”

Quincy Crew, nouns, and Evil Geniuses are now deadlocked with a score of 6-1. The only thing that is certain is that Tour 3 of the NA DPC League will end dramatically! There will be two sets of tiebreakers for the NA DPC – one to determine which two out of three teams go to the Arlington Major, and the second to determine which two out of three teams are relegated to Division II.
