Edward is in awe of OhMyV33nus’ decisive victory over RSG

Sep 8, 2022

On the MPL Philippines Season 10 stage, the first match between reigning champion RSG PH and the holders of the current world championship, Blacklist International, took place on Sunday night.

And the highly anticipated matchup between two of the finest teams in the world did not disappoint, with Blacklist International needing more than 30 minutes to defeat RSG PH in the winner-take-all Game Three, with a key shot call coming from Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna.

OhMyV33NUS (Mathilda) noticed Eman “EMANN” Sangco (Beatrix) clearing the wave of minions in the middle lane as the tense decider entered its 32nd minute. He gave the order for Esmeralda’s Edward “Edward” Dapadap to support the RSG PH gold laner.

OhMyV33NUS’ strategy for Blacklist International was a great success, and Edward managed to catch EMANN with his Falling Starmoon. That started the decisive battle, which resulted in a five-man wipe for victory for them.

“Si momshie po kasi alam niyang nagki-clear yung Beatrix sa mid kaya cinall niya ako na ikutin ko yung Beatrix para mahuli ko and ayun, napatay namin yung Bea and nanalo kami sa clash,” Edward shares just after the game, rightfully deflecting the credit to his team captain.

(Momshie because she knew that Beatrix was clearing in the mid so she told me to rotate Beatrix so I could catch her and that’s it, we killed Bea and we won the clash.)

“Siguro maraming beses na rin kaming may napagdaanan na long games. Marami na e, nung Season Seven, Eight, M3. Kaya parang nandoon pa rin yung composure namin kahit na ilang games na, ‘di kami nawawala doon sa objectives namin,” he continues to say.

(Maybe we have gone through long games many times. There’s been a lot, in Season Seven, Eight, M3. So it seems that our composure is still there even though it’s been a few games, we don’t lose sight of our objectives)

Blacklist International, who had gone winless the week before, now swept its fourth-week assignments and is in first place after the first round with a best of the league 14 points off a 5 to 2 win to loss record.

But the fact that they ultimately surpassed their three-win campaign in Season Nine made the week more better for the 17 year old EXP laner.

“Ayun, tingin ko kaya naman talaga nung Season Nine because we were consistently practicing, and ayun, babawi kami ngayon Season 10,” the pro player says.

(Well, I think it was really possible in Season Nine because we were consistently practicing, and well, we’ll be back this Season 10)

Filipino player Jonmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna, who is presently a mid laner on Blacklist International, was born on July 20, 1994.

He and Blacklist International won the MPL Philippines twice in a row.

Finished first in the M3 World Championship for assists.
