Multiple tiebreakers were used to determine the winner as Western Europe Division 1 finished the Summer Tour.

The 4th-5th place tiebreaker was undoubtedly the most stressful of all the tiebreakers, as Entity and Team Secret squared off in a best-of-three match to determine who advances to the year’s final Major. Both teams are in desperate need of more DPC points at the conclusion of the third league season of the 2022 Dota Pro Circuit because neither of them qualified for the last Major.

Entity vs Team Secret

Entity entered the tiebreaker match with high hopes after beginning the Summer Tour with a few upsets, including a 2-1 victory over Team Secret, but they were forced to swiftly adjust to Secret’s aggressiveness. On Dawnbreaker, a highly aggressive Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang defeated them in game one. His precise application of the global ultimate and overall map presence rendered Entity incapable of triumphing in any teamfights or skirmishes, setting Team Secret up for success.

“ICEICEICE TO THE RESCUE 🤝”

Although the first game was faultless, Team Secret neglected to give the hero top priority in the second game draft, thus they were forced to play against it. Giving Secret a taste of their own medicine, Entity increased their global map dominance with a position 4 Zeus and forced a third game in the series.

In the series’ final game, Dawnbreaker received zero attention. To ensure the late game potential, Secret went with Timbersaw, one of iceiceice’s defining heroes, and a carry Terrorblade. However, Entity countered them with a ton of strong lockdown spells, and despite their best efforts to prolong the match, Secret was still unable to mount a successful comeback.

“A disappointing end to what has been an emotional roller-coaster.

No Major for us. Sorry to the fans. The road to The International is never easy but we’ll make it there.

#SecretDota”

Entity will represent Western Europe at the PGL Arlington Major with Team Liquid, Tundra Esports, and OG, but even if they win the championship next month, they could not have enough points to escape regional qualifying for TI11. Regional qualifiers are currently Team Secret’s lone route to The International 11.
