Team Flash is the last regional contender at the Icons after a swift ascent to prominence in the Southeast Asian Wild Rift scene.
Recent months have witnessed a wide variety of League of Legends: Wild Rift events, with Southeast Asia undoubtedly starting to achieve global importance in the mobile game. The Horizon Cup 2021, which took place in the latter part of 2021, demonstrated that SEA teams could compete with the best, with Team Secret finishing third overall while the two Chinese teams dominated the competition. Since then, though, Team Flash, a Vietnamese powerhouse, has emerged as a new rival in the SEA, overwhelming all others.
Over the last 18 months, Flash have risen up the ranks and undergone a slew of roster changes before finding their ideal group. Only two games were lost by the team on their way to winning the Champions SEA 2022 – Vietnam competition. At the Icons Global Championship 2022, they have been working hard to compete for their region against the greatest in the world.

It was incredible to see that three of the four SEA teams who were still in the running after the Group Stages advanced to the knockout round. Buriram United Esports, Rex Regum Qeon, and Team Flash were all able to place themselves in the top eight, but unfortunately they were not up to the task. Sadly, FunPlus Phoenix and J Team would terminate the tournament lives of RRQ and FW, but they still put on a fantastic performance.

Team Flash kept moving forward, defeating JD Gaming, a major player in Chinese Wild Rift, and now faces a tougher opponent in the top 4. The team has a few more days to prepare and will watch Nova China vs. FunPlus before their series, but the only question left to be solved is whether Team Flash can carry the Vietnamese flag high all the way to the Icons Global Championship finals.
Starting tomorrow, Nova CN and FunPlus will square off in the semi-finals, followed on July 6th, 2022, by J Team and Team Flash competing for a position in the grand final, which will occur on July 9, 2022.
