Omega Esports Snaps Falcon’s Wings and Wins the PH vs. PH Lower Bracket Match

Jun 28, 2022

IT WAS LASON vs. LASON as two of the most dangerous lower bracket teams squared off, and while many expected a tight-knit battle between these two dark horses, it was the defending MSC winners who emerged victorious.

Omega Esports swept Falcon Esports 3-0 to advance to the lower bracket finals.

The series demonstrated Omega’s better team fighting execution, particularly in the later rounds of the game.

Falcon’s trademark heroes are annihilated by Omega.

Falcon Esports posed a danger against teams from around the region during their MSC campaign, owing to their core characters Xavier and Natalia.

In Game 1, both were given wide freedom to wreak mayhem. They were able to cripple Omega’s early game with Pyae “JustiN” Sone Khant’s Xavier ult and Min “Naomi” Ko Ko’s Natalia entry. It didn’t help that Kenneth “Kenn” Hein had managed to capture Dean Christian “Raizen” Samagui.

But just when it appeared like the Burmese squad was on its way to triumph, Omega adapted to their shenanigans.

Seeing the threat posed by the dynamic combo, Omega went to great lengths to safeguard Duane “Kelra” Pillas, Falcon’s primary target. The majority of Falcon’s attempts were futile, as Omega was able to recover and win Game 1.

Ch4knu clipped the wings of a falcon.

While Game 1 was a back-and-forth tactical battle, the second match demonstrated that Omega’s decision-making was the determining element.

Falcon showed hints of their ability when Kenn was able to work with JustiN to eliminate Kelra, but Omega thwarted most of their attempts in this battle.

As the Blazing Duet and surprise entrances from Ch4kmamba bode disaster for the Burmese team, Kelra landed his skills efficiently with Joshua “Ch4knu ” Mangilog in the 11th minute.

The same thing happened throughout the match as Ch4knu and Kelra’s unexpected entrances annihilated Falcon, culminating to a 14-5 thrashing in favor of Barangay Omega.

Falcon’s fate is at stake.

The Falcons pushed frantically in Game 3 to regain momentum in order to keep their playoff and lower bracket aspirations alive. Falcon’s Paquito and Grock combination weakened Raizen early on.

However, their attempts were in vain since Omega had far too many options. Falcon was left in the dust as Patrick James “E2MAX” Caidic’s Valentina stole vital spells and Ch4knu made backstabbing entrances. Omega made a last-ditch effort in the 17th minute to preserve their chance at the grand finals alive.

In the lower bracket finals, Omega will meet their compatriots, RSG PH. Their most recent clash was in the MPL to PH Season 9 finals, where the Raiders defeated Omega 4 to 1.
