The two groups won all of their matches to proceed to the IEM Cologne Grand Final.

Who would have imagined that Natus Vincere and FaZe Clan would square off again in less than six months? The two teams won their respective semifinal matches to advance to the IEM Cologne 2022 Grand Final round.

In their semifinal encounter against Astralis, NAVI immediately demonstrated why they are regarded as the best CS:GO team. In the opening map, Nuke, NAVI handily defeated Astralis with a 16-8 victory, barely breaking a sweat as they advanced to the championship round. On Mirage, Astralis put pressure on the Ukrainians in an effort to keep their dream alive; in fact, they were ahead before the break. However, things changed around as NAVI gained momentum and forced the game into overtime. It took an additional three rounds for NAVI to finally prevail and advance to the finals.

In contrast, FaZe Clan had a simpler time because they faced Movistar Riders in their semifinal game. FaZe easily dominated the Spaniards on both maps, demonstrating their dominance and that they are a formidable force. Although the Movistar riders made an effort, they were unable to overcome the North American team’s superior strength.

As of the time of writing, NAVI and FaZe Clan will be getting together shortly. Before everyone enters a summer break from competition, the match will reveal which squad is the greatest in CS:GO right now. Will there be a revenge match after these two teams last squared off in Antwerp?
