FaZe Clan, who took first place at Major Antwerp, is among the top six.
The Intel Extreme Masters Cologne group stage is now complete, and only six players remain in the tournament to determine the IEM Cologne champion. Four of the top six are from Europe, one is from the CIS, and the only representative from North America.
The participating teams are as follows:
- Team Liquid
- Movistar Riders
- MOUZ
- Astralis
- FaZe Clan
- Natus Vincere
The competition’s final two teams will face off in the semifinals as the team with the highest seed.
MOUZ will remember the Playoffs at IEM Cologne because it is the first time in a while that they are in the playoff stage for a significant event. At the most recent IEM Katowice, when they played ninth overall, they had their best performance for a major event in the previous two years. They did experience some success in minor competitions, as evidenced by their recent second-place finish at the Global Esports Tour Dubai 2022.
The playoffs were missed by notable teams including Cloud9, FURIA, and G2 Esports.
The first quarterfinal match will take place on July 15 between Astralis and MOUZ, and the second quarterfinal match will take place on July 16 between Movistar Riders and Team Liquid.
