Chennai Super Kings’ batting has let them down in the three matches they’ve played this season and consequently, haven’t managed to win a match yet. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the orange cap winner in IPL 2021, hasn’t fired with the bat yet and has failed to provide good starts. Robin Uthappa was promoted as an opener in the second match CSK played and has displayed a desirable performance. Rayudu and captain Jadeja haven’t shown form yet while Shivam Dube has remained the only batter with a considerable amount of runs this season. The addition of Chris Jordan was an exciting prospect for CSK in their last match and will assist DJ Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali & Dwaine Pretorius to take on a rather inexperienced Sunrisers Hyderabad side.  Sunrisers Hyderabad batting faced a collapse in their first match while their X-factor batter, Rahul Tripathi, scored 44 runs against Lucknow Super Giants, while Nicholas Pooran managed 34 runs in 23 balls and SRH would be hoping for Kane Williamson & Aiden Markram to join in the scoring, along with retained Abdul Samad who will play the role of finisher.  Hyderabad bowling is also young with Bhuvneshwar Kumar being their most experienced bowler. Washington Sundar, Romario Shepherd, Umran Malik, and T Natarajan have picked up wickets for SRH and the onus would be on them to rout out of form CSK batting order.  CHENNAI SUPER KINGS Chennai Super Kings PredictionRavindra Jadeja and his team have got off to a losing start in the IPL 2022. With 3 back to back losses, Chennai Super Kings are on the hunt for their first win of the season. After failing to defend a 200+ runs total against Lucknow, CSK suffered a batting collapse while chasing 181 runs against Punjab Kings. The Super Kings seem to be struggling in the bowling department post the mega-auction. They have signed Mukesh Choudhary who hasn’t been very promising so far and neither has Tushar Deshpande. Most of the bowling responsibility lies with overseas bowlers like Chris Jordan, DJ Bravo, and Dwaine Pretorius with skipper Jadeja leading the spin department. In terms of batting, Robin Uthappa has been impressive at the top and will be a key player in the top order. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the orange cap holder from last season is yet to find his form with scores of 1, 1, 0 in his last 3 innings. The batting lineup is deep and with Shivam Dube in a great touch lower down the order, CSK is well equipped with even Chris Jordan able to bat at number 10. SUNRISERS HYDERABAD SRH Betting Tips & PredictionJust like CSK, Hyderabad are also looking to secure its first win of the season. Williamson won the toss and elected to bowl first in both the games and his side failed to deliver the work. Skipper himself hasn’t been in the best of touch while Abhishek Sharma who’s promoted to open the innings this season hasn’t shown any promise either. We would say, Rahul Tripathi, Nicholas Pooran, and Aiden Markram would be the key players in this lineup to watch out for. Tripathi has done a good job for KKR in the previous seasons while Pooran and Markram are known for their big-hitting abilities and can turn the game around quickly. SRH also has a deep batting lineup with Abdul Samad and Romario Shepherd at numbers 7 and 8. Washington Sundar is a great addition to the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad and will be a crucial all-rounder who can make a significant impact with both bat and ball. A new team with an old approach is probably their biggest problem. T Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Umran Malik from the SRH pace attack with two of these three being very impressed with the pace. Though there’s still a long way to go for Malik and Romario is also in his early stages in the IPL, Bhuvneshwar and Sundar can lead this bowling attack in terms of wickets and consistency. MATCH DETAILS: Match: Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, Match 17, IPL 2022 Venue: DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai Date & Time: April 9, 3:30 PM PITCH REPORT The wicket at the DY Patil Stadium offers a lot of assistance to both the pacers as well as the spinners. Even the batters will also be looking forward to dominating in the powerplay overs. The surface is expected to slow down as the game progresses. Therefore, the captain winning the toss will be looking to bat first. Another reason to bat first is that it is an afternoon game. PROBABLE PLAYING XIS FOR CSK VS SRH CHENNAI SUPER KINGS Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja (c), Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni (wk), Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Dwaine Pretorius, Chris Jordan, Mahesh Theekshana/Dwayne Bravo SUNRISERS HYDERABAD Rahul Tripathi, Kane Williamson (c), Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Abhishek Sharma, Abdul Samad, Romario Shepherd, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Umran Malik/Kartik Tyagi PROBABLE TOP PERFORMERS PROBABLE BEST BATTER OF THE MATCH: MS DHONI MS Dhoni seems to have rediscovered his rhythm. After an unbeaten 50 runs off 38 deliveries in the curtain-raiser against Kolkata Knight Riders, he scored 16 off 6 against Lucknow Super Giants, which eventually propelled the team to a mammoth 210/7. Dhoni had also carried out the rescue act in the last match against Punjab with a vital 23 because of which Chennai could reach 126, chasing 181. PROBABLE BEST BOWLER OF THE MATCH: DWAYNE BRAVO Dwayne Bravo has been CSK’s most consistent performer with the ball. He has picked up wickets in all of the title-holders’ three matches so far. The West Indies all-rounder has picked up five wickets including a three-wicket haul against KKR. The onus would once again be on him to make the ball talk as CSK eyes their first win. Today’s match prediction: Chennai Super Kings to win the match.
