On Wednesday, the Gujarat Titans triumphed over Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets at a thrilling match at the Wankhede Stadium. This comes courtesy of a half-century from Wriddhiman Saha and scorching cameos from Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan. The high-scoring match was decided in the last ball of the last over. Hyderabad’s Umran Malik’s five-wicket performance was overshadowed by Rashid and Tewatia’s 31 and 40 runs, respectively, Chasing 196, Gujarat started off high, with openers Shubman Gill and Saha putting on a 50-run stand in just 6 overs. Umran Malik removed Gill in the eighth over for Hyderabad, which resulted in Gujarat being reduced to 69/1. Hardik Pandya later on joined Saha and together they tried to anchor the innings, but Umran Malik sent the Gujarat skipper, with only 10 runs in his pocket, back to the dugout in the 10th over of the game. David Miller joined Saha at the crease and the pair regained their footing quickly. On his way to a half-century in just 28 balls, Saha blasted the other team’s spinners to all four corners of the ground. But the last laugh belonged to Umran Malik, who dismissed Saha for 68 runs in the 14th over, leaving the Gujarat Titans on 122/3.  Umran Malik grabbed back-to-back wickets of Abhinav Manohar and David Miller in the 16th over, putting Gujarat at a serious disadvantage at 140/5. Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia then linked their hands at the crease, sparking some hope for their team. The pair started to smash the Hyderabad bowlers and brought back their team’s momentum. Tewatia smacked the first ball of Marco Jansen out of the stands for a six with 22 runs left in the last over, which was then followed by Rashid Khan being summoned to the crease by a single. Rashid hit the third delivery for a six, which was basically following Tewatia’s footsteps. Rashid then blasted two back-to-back sixes to steer Gujarat to a win, with nine runs needed off two balls. Earlier, the fifties from opener Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram steered Sunrisers Hyderabad to reach 195/6 in the first innings. Mohammed Shami took three wickets for Gujarat, while Alzarri Joseph and Yash Dayal took one each.
