Sunrisers Hyderabad took on Punjab Kings on Sunday at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The match swayed in favor of the Orange Army, as SRH accomplished seven wickets with seven balls to spare, enough to make them win the match comfortably. The win also made the Sunrisers the first team to win four back-to-back wins this season.  The batting talents of Rahul Tripathi (34 off 22), Aiden Markram (41* off 27) and Nicholas Pooran (35* off 30) pulled off a tremendous job for the team yet again. But it wasn’t the excellent batting that actually secured the match for the team – it was the bowling line-up, which restricted PBKS’ strong batting, reducing them to a below-par score of 151 in their 20 overs.  Veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and young Umran Malik totally dominated with the ball. Bhuvi got a figure of 3/22 in his four overs. But it was Malik who definitely shined, displaying his total best against Punjab. The 22-year-old bowled his fast with absolute control and took a four-wicket haul, registering a figure of 4/28, his career-best in the IPL. Not only that, but he also bowled a maiden in the 20th over of the other team’s batting, taking three wickets in that over. Known for his sheer pace, Malik has also improved in his length now. He’s doing a fabulous job for his team after going for runs in previous matches. Arguably, Malik can be considered as the fastest bowler in the ongoing season, with his average speed of 150 km/h.  Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar, who is known for his accuracy and swing, gave the batters at PBKS a difficult time too. After the match, the veteran pacer praised Malik and shared his own bowling plan.  When asked how Malik’s pace benefitting him as a bowling partner, Bhuvneshwar answered cheekily: “More than helping me, it means I am a target as batters think I’m slower.” As for his plans against the PBKS batters, Bhuvneshwar revealed: “That was my plan against Shikhar, as I knew he would step out and look for the boundary. I looked to hit a hard length and find the top edge, and luckily that’s what happened. I looked to play with my field as well. I try to bowl to the batter’s weakness or to the ground’s dimensions.” Bhuvneshwar also had good words for Malik, saying that it was a joy to watch the 22-year-old bowl at 150 km/h.  “Hope the others going after me lead to wickets and not boundaries,” he concluded.
