MANILA, Philippines – Thomas Robinson wants to settle an outstanding matter in the PBA. And the only way for him to understand that is to give himself another chance, another chance to compete in Asia’s first professional league.

Robinson emphasized that he simply plays with a lot of heart and stated that he wants to establish himself and get over the negative impression that his debut season with NLEX during the Commissioner’s Cup last season may have left.

The 33-year-old import Robinson said he wanted to dispel any misunderstandings people may have about him. He made it clear that he is neither a nasty person or someone who loses control of himself when angry. Robinson declared his intention to clear up any bad press and share his genuine views. Robinson, who came to the nation with a solid resume, was selected by the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the 2012 NBA Draft, fifth overall. After playing in major overseas leagues in Russia, China, and several other nations, he spent time with the Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, Philadelphia Eagles, Brooklyn Nets, and Los Angeles Lakers during his NBA career.

Despite holding NLEX below the.500 line with a 2-2 record, Robinson did live up to his hype, displaying his ability on both ends of the court with an average of 34.5 points, 13.2 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.7 block shots.

Beneath his talent, though, Robinson also left a trail of controversy in his wake. Chief among them was the infamous altercation he had with Northport team manager Pido Jarencio, which started inside the Smart Araneta Coliseum’s playing court and ended in the hallway that led to the teams’ locker room during the Road Warriors’ 112-104 victory.

Robinson finally had to be let go by NLEX management after he took an unforeseen vacation and missed team practices.

The import, who had an unsuccessful run with San Miguel before NLEX, acknowledged that the Robinson family, who had grown to cherish their brief stay in the Philippines, had been disappointed by the abrupt departure.

Robinson said that his family’s profound sadness and ongoing disappointment stemmed from having to leave the Philippines. Throughout their visit, his family grew to love the nation and embraced its people, culture, and way of life. Robinson revealed that they were enthralled by the kindness and hospitality they encountered, which made their departure all the more painful. He made it clear that they are thinking seriously about going back and settling in the Philippines. Robinson and his family are optimistic about the prospect of establishing a future in the nation that has had such a profound influence on them.

He now wants to make things right and hopes to play in the 49-year-old league once more, especially because the Commissioner’s Cup midseason tournament is coming up soon and will feature foreigners with no height restrictions.

Robinson stated that he is open to playing for any team that will give him a chance, including NLEX and Northport, after spending time in Puerto Rico.

Robinson conveyed his profound regard for the NLEX leadership and the entire establishment. The former NBA player expressed his wish to rejoin NLEX and expressed his respect for the group and its members. He also co-founded the Family Over Everything Foundation with Marcus and Markieff Morris. In order to resume his unfinished PBA career, he had to make amends for past transgressions, especially with coach Pido Jarencio, 60. Robinson expressed his heartfelt regret to Jarencio and made it clear that, at the time of their prior incident, he was not aware of the coach’s legacy. He conveyed his admiration for Jarencio’s contributions to basketball and made an effort to honor the seasoned coach’s achievements going ahead.

Though regretful, Robinson is determined not to let another chance to show off his true abilities as a player slip through his fingers. After all, everyone is entitled to a second opportunity.
