MANILA, Philippines – After eking out significant victories against various competitors on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig, SISTA and Converge secured their places in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Batang PBA.

Sista defeated TNT by a score of 64 to 58 to capture the top position in Group C of the 12-Under division, while Converge defeated Sista by a score of 66-58 to earn the second seed in Group C of the 14-Under division.

The Batang Super Sealers, who finished Group C unbeaten with a 3 to 0 record, were led by Peter Sebastian Ibe and Jeron James Herrera, who each scored 15 and 10 points.

TNT suffered its first defeat to drop to 2 to 1. To improve its chances of making the 12-Under playoffs, the team must now defeat PBA All Star Dark (0 to 3) in its final game.

The Batang FiberXers concluded their season with a 3 to 1 record, trailing the unbeaten leader TNT (3 to 0), who clinched first place in Group C regardless of the outcome of its final game against Sista (1 to 2).

For the Batang FiberXers, John Edward Corbe scored a game-high 19 points.

Dwayne Chadwick Nonato scored 26 points in the other 14-Under game, which PBA Stalwarts won 113 to 46 over All Star Light to maintain its tenuous playoff prospects at 2 to 2.

Thanks to the Stalwarts’ victory, Cavitex (3 to 0) was able to secure one of the two quarterfinal spots while still hoping that the Red President (2 to 0) would lose all of its remaining games to qualify for the playoffs.

Despite the outcome of its final game, The All Star Light was eliminated from the competition with a 0-3 record.
