RICCI Rivero announced his participation in the PBA Rookie Draft this year, stating that joining the local league has always been his goal.
Rivero, who briefly worked with Taoyuan Pilots in Taiwan’s P.League+, informed Noli Eala during his Power and Play program that he plans to play in the PBA in the upcoming season.
The former University of the Philippines cager claimed the PBA was always a part of his plan, with former Barangay Ginebra stars Mark Caguioa and Jayjay Helterbrand as his primary mentors. Nevertheless, he took the Taiwan offer.
It’s always been the dream, said the 25-year-old Rivero on Saturday. He said he was so happy when he was a kid when they went to Manila and watched the PBA games since their home is in Isabela. Ricci said they want to meet their idol Mark and Jay called “Fast and Furious.”
He added that he was grateful when they were given a chance to play overseas. Many players grabbed it since it was many opportunities for them.
