It turned out that three more players, in addition to Eric Camson, had left Terrafirma for the next PBA Season 49.

According to team manager Ronald Tubid, the Dyip have also let go of guards JP Calvo, Gelo Alolino, and Allen Mina.

Terrafirma had previously selected Calvo and Mina in the draft, and in 2021, Alolino was acquired from San Miguel Beer as part of the exchange for CJ Perez.

The trio, along with Camson, was a member of the Dyip team that participated in the Philippine Cup playoffs the previous season.

Javi Gomez De Liano, Isaac Go, and leading candidate Stephen Holt for Rookie of the Year are also gone. Accordingly, half of the starting lineup from Dyip’s first quarterfinal appearance since 2016 has left the team.

Gome De Liano turned down a contract extension offer from Dyip in order to play with a team in the Korean Basketball League, while Holt and Go were moved to Barangay Ginebra in exchange for Christian Standhardinger and Stanley Pringle.

As Juami Tiongson’s reliable backup point guard, Alolino averaged 5.5 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game last season, while Calvo averaged 2.5 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.

In contrast, Mina has had almost little use from coach Johnedel Cardel during his third season in the league.
Letran’s products, Mina and Calvo, were teammates with the KIA team for their whole PBA careers.

Mina was selected in the third round (No. 26 overall) of the Season 47 draft, while Calvo and CJ Perez were the team’s two first-round selections in the 2018 edition.

Oddly enough, Mina has joined the Pangasinan Heatwaves in the MPBL, while Calvo is a member of the South Cotabato Warriors.

Perhaps as a result of losing seven players in all, Dyip signed rookies Didat Hanapi, Paolo Hernandez, and CJ Catapusan.

In exchange for a future second-round pick, Hanapi and Hernandez were obtained from Barangay Ginebra, and Catapusan was Dyip’s No. 15 overall selection (second round) in the most recent draft.

As previously, Eric Camson, a seasoned big man, will not be playing for Dyip in the next PBA Season 49.
Terrafirma received confirmation from team manager Ronald Tubid that 34-year-old Camson was leaving.

The Adamson product first joined the KIA franchise in 2017 along with Glenn Khobuntin and a 2020 NLEX second-round selection for Alex Mallari and Kenneth Ighalo.

Since then, he has remained a member of the team until management decides to let him go.
