MANILA, Philippines – In the 2023 Batang PBA 11-Under division played at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig, MAGNOLIA and Blackwater both started their seasons with landslide victories.

A commanding start in Group B was provided by Xian Raphael Latay, who led Magnolia to a 70 to 42 victory over Meralco with 19 points.

The Batang Hotshots, who had a close 29 to 25 lead at the half but outscored the Batang Bolts 24 to 8 in the third quarter to pull away, also had 12 points from Andre Luis Fontanilla.

After defeating NLEX 55 to San Miguel is the first team to reserve a spot in the Final Four, which will include the top club from each of the four groups40 in the opening match, Meralco’s record now stands at 1 to 1.

Gjenral David Balboa scored 12 points and John Adan Negrete added 10 points as Blackwater defeated Converge 51 to 38 in Group A.

Converge, which finished 0 to 2, lost due to Marion Frank Mabigat’s nine points.

In Group C, Phoenix defeated Northport 60 to 36 as Jaffar Casan scored a game-high 21 points as Phoenix jumped off to a 28 to 2 lead.

To maintain their chances of making the semifinals, the Batang Fuel Masters climbed to 1 to 1.

The first team to reserve a spot in the Final Four, which will include the top club from each of the four groups, is San Miguel. The Batang Beermen won decisively over Talk ‘N Text (63 to 42) and Terrafirma (51 to 23), sweeping Group D.
