To lead the quarter finalists in Tuesday’s knockout stage at the Ayala Mall Manila Bay, all three teams finished first in their respective groups.

With victories over Pioneer Elastoseal in overtime, 13-11, and Blackwater, 20-17, The Triple Giga finished first in Pool A with a 2-0 record.

In Pool B, the visiting team Wilcon Depot accomplished the same feat by defeating San Miguel (21-16), Cavitex (18-16), and Purefoods (18-13).

Kim Aurin, Ralph Salcedo, Donald Gumaru, and Ralph Cu all contributed to Barangay Ginebra’s 3-0 record in Pool C as they helped their team sweep Terrafirma (22-12), Meralco (16-12), and Northport (21-11).

In Pool A, Pioneer Elastoseal defeated Blackwater Razor Sharp 15-14 to secure the other spot in the quarterfinals.

Going into the final few games of group play, the remaining quarterfinal berths are still up for grabs.

Despite being a new team in the half court league, Wilcon’s five players are all seasoned 3×3 competitors who are prepared to compete and succeed, according to Coach Anton Altamirano.

The team’s captain Yutien Andrada, big man Keith Datu, Ael Banal, Terrence Tumalip, and recent addition Louie Vigil make up the players.

At Platinum Karaoke, played under Altamirano, players Andrada, Datu, Banal, and Tumalip were winners of two legs in the first two seasons of the PBA 3×3.

As one of two guest teams competing at the 3×3 First Conference on July 3 at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay, the team was formally introduced on Wednesday at the Westin Manila.

Rosemarie Bosch-Ong, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Wilcon Depot Inc. joined Altamirano and the group.

Guanio stated that the group has agreed to compete as a guest team from one conference and will join the Pioneer Katibays, Purefoods TJ Titans, Cavitex, Meralco, Barangay Ginebra, Terrafirma 3×3, NorthPort, San Miguel, and Blackwater Red President as well as other regular teams.
