Fajardo, who is injured, is leading the BPC race, but his four-week absence might hurt his chances

MANILA, Philippines – Star player June Mar Fajardo of SAN MIGUEL leads the statistical race for the most outstanding player of the conference took place award in the 2023 to 24 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, but a recent hand injury has put his chances of winning a tenth BPC championship in jeopardy.

It will take the seven-time PBA MVP four to six weeks to recover from a fracture in his left hand.

FAJARDO HAS ONLY PARTICIPATED IN FOUR GAMES.

As per the regulations of the league, a contender needs to participate in seventy percent of his team’s matches to be qualified for the BPC.

Fajardo has participated in just four conference games thus far.

After averaging 19.3 points and setting league-high standards for 11.8 rebounds as well as 3.0 blocks, he amassed 43.3 statistically significant points (SPs) in 34 games played against all of the Commissioner’s Cup teams.

EXPERIENCED RUNNING SECOND

Currently holding second position with 42.8 SPs is Christian Standhardinger from Barangay Ginebra, followed by CJ Perez from San Miguel with 40.3 SPs.

San Miguel’s Maverick Ahanmisi is ranked fourth alongside 37.2 SPs, followed by NorthPort’s Arvin Tolentino in fifth place with 35.5 SPs.

The remaining twelve finishers are Jio Jalalon of Magnolia (33.7), Mark Barroca of Magnolia (32.8), Scottie Thompson of Barangay Ginebra (31.5), Chris Newsome of Meralco (30.20), Javi Gomez de Liano of Terrafirma (30.17), Paul Lee of Magnolia (30.17), and Calvin Oftana of TNT.
