MANILA, Philippines – Baser Amer, who plays for the San Beda Red Lions, is an NCAA champion four times. He earned the same amount of chips while playing for the NLEX Road Warriors and the Hapee Fresh Fighters in the PBA D-League. He’ll probably wear a PBA uniform for the third time.

However, in his eight years in the PBA, his championship background has not yet materialized.

When he was a young point guard for the Meralco Bolts, he was close to winning it all a few times. But in the end, they were unsuccessful. With Blackwater Bossing as his enduring doormat, Amer’s chances of winning a PBA crown are now much greater than before. Wins for the team have been as elusive as a sighting of BigFoot.

Amer is said to be leaving Blackwater by the end of the year in order to experiment with free agency. The ideal destination for the reliable playmaker, who is 31 years old, would be championship contenders who would require his assistance to overcome adversity.

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel

The three-time PBA All-Star can undoubtedly replace LA Tenorio, who is nearing the end of his career at 39, thanks to his excellent ball handling, strong court awareness, and knack for making huge shots. With Baser joining the team, coach Tim Cone’s historic record may be extended.

Joining Team Never Say Die alongside fellow NCAA great and PBA classmate Scottie Thompson, Amer will be a nice fit. And both of them are from Davao. It’s hardly impossible that these relationships will lead to something advantageous for the league’s glamour squad.

TNT Tropang Giga

The variables being considered are as follows. Jayson Castro, a 37-year-old star point guard for TNT, is getting older. Kib Montalbo, Ryan Reyes, and Brian Heruela are the team’s next top ball handlers.

Amer is superior to Heruela and Montalbo. Now, Reyes is forty years old. He is quite elderly.

If they can add the cunning guard to their lineup, it will be a huge advantage for the injury-plagued Tropang Giga. As for Amer, he could rely on TNT, a successful team in the league, to continue making decisions until they’re in a strong position to take home a championship.

North Port Batang Pier

Arvin Tolentino and Fran Yu are two rising stars of NorthPort, a team with a lot of potential as anchors. Maybe all the club needs to go to the next level right now is some experienced leadership and outstanding play from one position.

Amer is capable of providing both elements.

With Bonnie Tan’s Hammer guiding coach, the Batang Pier could just be able to scrape by the PBA’s elite teams and take home a championship or two. It will end up being a fantastic underdog tale for the entire league in addition to NorthPort.

Conclusion

Due to a calf injury, Amer has only made three appearances for Blackwater in the current PBA Commissioner’s Cup. In light of this, he really needs to start over somewhere new in order to revive his once-thriving career.
