MANILA, Philippines – On the previous Wednesday in Seoul, South Korea, TNT fell short of Anyang Jung Kwan, 105 to 97, as they failed to overcome adversity in their EASL Home and Away campaign.

Along with previous employer NCAA Rookie-MVP Rhenz Abando, Seongwon Choi led the home team in scoring alongside 24 points, and they both made crucial baskets in the final minute of play to thwart the Tropang Giga’s attempt at a comeback.

The team, which is currently the defending champion of the Korean Basketball League (KBL), enhanced the top 2 to 0 thanks to import Daryl Monroe’s double-double of 21 points as well as 10 rebounding. In a deadball scenario, Monroe also got into an argument with TNT expert consultant Chot Reyes late in their match while the import was hiding beneath the Tropang Giga huddle.

With Jayson Castro out of the picture, TNT was able to compensate with big performances from Quincy Miller, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, along with Calvin Oftana.

However, their lack of strength proved to be insufficient as the Tropang Giga dropped their fourth straight match. In the group stage, they are currently in danger of being eliminated.

With less than just under two minutes remaining, Miller tied the game’s high score of 35 points and grabbed nine rebounds, which included a three-pointer that brought TNT closer to 102 to 95.

Oftana scored 25 points, boosted by five three-pointers, and Hollis-Jefferson contributed 29 points as well as eight blocked shots.

With a perfect 3 to 0 record, the idle Chiba Jets are leading Group A.
