MANILA, Philippines – at the Philsports Arena in Pasig, Army and Akari are seeking to snap their losing streaks in the Premier Volleyball League All Filipino Conference, while Chery Tiggo is hoping to make it four games without a loss and secure its semi final bid.

In the nine-team competition, the Crossovers were the only unblemished team when the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers overcame the Creamline Cool Smashers in a thrilling five-set encounter late on Saturday. Midway through the single round robin elimination stages of the league’s season-opening conference, which is run by Sports Vision, the inaugural pro league champions in 2021 are motivated to attempt for another victory.

Chery Tiggo, however, will face challenges because PLDT wants to build on last Thursday’s straight-set triumph over Army, which came after the team had lost in five sets to F2 Logistics. In order to strengthen their own campaign and make the semi-final game more exciting, the High Speed Hitters will also be seeking to defeat the Crossovers.

During this time, the 4 p.m. Between the Lady Troopers and the Chargers, there is considerable activity in the game. Attempting to end a three-game losing run that included shutout losses to the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, the Cargo Movers, and the Cignal HD Spikers, the former team entered the first game aiming to rebound from back-to-back losses, while the latter was attempting to end its own three-game losing streak.

The Crossovers, who finished second-to-last here last season, have vowed to get better and have been giving it their all to defeat the Lady Troopers, HD Spikers, and Cargo Movers by scores of 3 to 0 and 3 to 1, respectively.

Despite losing their captain Dindin Manabat to Akari, the Crossovers have responded to the return of coach Aaron Velez and flourished behind the seasoned Mylene Paat, EJ Laure, Cza Carandang, Shaya Adorador, and the rising Roselle Baliton.

However, the High Speed Hitters have gradually adjusted to the play-patterns and coaching style of new head coach Rald Ricafort, with players like Mary Anne Mendrez shining against the Lady Troopers with 11 points and combining for 35 points. Jovie Prado, Dell Palomata, newcomer Michelle Morente, captain Mika Reyes, and Mae Santos are more players who have made this adjustment.
