MANILA, Philippines – After her strong performance in the first game of the series against Petro Gazz for PLDT, Kath Arado felt she could still contribute much more. The High-Speed Hitters lost that game, but Arado was aware of what she needed to do to influence the outcome of Game Two.
With a fresh outlook, the libero started the game. Even if it meant diving over the LED boards on the sides, she was eager to receive and dig every ball that came her way. The High-Speed Hitters gained an important victory and leveled the series thanks to this mindset adjustment.
Arado’s amazing 26 superb digs and 12 excellent receptions demonstrated how much the squad had benefited from her fresh perspective. They are about to make their maiden PVL finals appearance thanks in large part to her performance, which was crucial to their victory.
In Game 1, Arado noted, “Even though I knew our team’s performance was poor, I also recognized that I had faults.
“I actually examined the film, the highlights, during our viewing, and I really analyzed it and questioned myself why I only received a few balls. It’s not only that they were avoiding me, but I was also allowing my teammates to receive or defend,” the player said.

With Arado’s new way of thinking, taking care of the defense as much as possible would lessen the strain on her teammates, especially the open spikers. She was aware of the intense pressure placed on the team, which sought to demonstrate that they were no longer league pushovers.
The PLDT team put a lot of effort into getting ready for this conference, and their efforts were appreciated. They have been warned by their coach not to underestimate them, and Arado’s performance in Game Two demonstrates that they are absolutely a team to be taken seriously.
Arado added, “Actually, we’re really happy, and, as the coach often says, the game isn’t finished yet, so it’s always on our thoughts that we’re not simply a team that can be easily defeated. We’re really fighting, and we feel that we can end as the champions.
