The decision to join Cignal was an obvious one for Macandili-Catindig, especially following the dissolution of F2 Logistics. Having previously worked under the guidance of head coach Shaq delos Santos in the national team, the libero expressed happiness and honor in joining the ranks of Cignal HD Spikers, a stable and renowned volleyball club.
Dawn Macandili-Catindig, the 27-year-old defensive specialist, brings a wealth of experience and talent to Cignal, and her addition is a significant boost for Coach Delos Santos. The coach expressed his excitement, stating, “Any team or coach will gladly welcome a player of Dawn’s caliber.” Recognizing Macandili-Catindig’s exceptional skills, Delos Santos emphasized the positive impact her presence is expected to have on Cignal’s overall performance.
Macandili-Catindig herself shared her enthusiasm, noting, “Coach Shaq has also been my coach in several national team stints, so I think it will be easy to adapt to the team as I already know his system from before.” As the Best Libero in the 2022 PVL Open Conference, her addition is anticipated to enhance Cignal’s defensive prowess, providing a valuable asset to the team.
With Macandili-Catindig now part of the HD Spikers, Cignal aims to build on its successes and further solidify its position in the Philippine volleyball scene. Her familiarity with Coach Shaq’s system and her outstanding defensive capabilities make her a key player in Cignal’s pursuit of excellence in the upcoming competitions, including the PVL season scheduled to commence in February 2024.
Coach Delos Santos emphasized the team’s ongoing pursuit of success, expressing their ambition to capitalize on the podium finishes attained in recent competitions. He views Dawn as a player possessing qualities that can make a substantial contribution to their objectives, stating, “We believe that Dawn is the kind of player who will help us reach our goal for this team.”
Having clinched a commendable third-place finish in the 2nd All-Filipino Conference, Cignal seeks to fortify its standing with the addition of Dawn Macandili-Catindig. The team is gearing up to further enhance its performance in the upcoming PVL season, scheduled to kick off in February 2024. With Dawn’s skills and expertise, the HD Spikers are optimistic about their prospects and are determined to make a significant impact in the competitive landscape of Philippine volleyball.
