CREAMLINE, who won the PVL Open and Invitational Conference, will continue to represent the Philippines.
The 2022 ASEAN Grand Prix will be held in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, and will be the next competition for the AVC Cup for Women’s sixth-place finishers.
While the second leg has not yet been decided, the first leg will take place from September 9 to 11. Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia will be the opponents’ teams.
“Yes ‘yun ‘yung sabi ng management sa amin maglalaro kami sa ASEAN Grand Prix. We have two days break then balik na kami sa ensayo,”clarified by head coach Sherwin Meneses after their straight sets loss to Chinese Taipei just last Monday.
(Yes, that’s what the management told us, we will play in the ASEAN Grand Prix. We have a two days break then we are back to rehearsal.)
His squad had the best-ever performance for the Philippines in the AVC, and he continued, “Hopefully madala namin ‘yung exposure dito heading to Thailand.”

Alyssa Valdez, the beating heart and soul of Creamline, may or may not return in time for the upcoming competition.

“Hindi ko pa masagot pero hopefully makabalik siya para syempre, iba naman talaga ‘yung ambag ni Alyssa sa team pero syempre ‘yung health niya muna ang concern namin,” Meneses mentions on the Cool Smashers captain.
(I can’t answer yet but hopefully she can come back because of course, Alyssa’s contribution to the team is really different but of course her health is our first concern)
After winning the PVL Invitational Conference on August 14 of last year, Creamline had just one week until the AVC Cup began. Its third match in a month will be the ASEAN Grand Prix.
However, the Cool Smashers are always prepared to make sacrifices for their country and flag.
“Team familiarity and chemistry were lacking in the tournament at hand. Thank you to all the players that never gave up on this.”

Just recently in front of a cheering crowd at the Philsports Arena, Creamline Philippines made a valiant effort before losing to Chinese-Taipei, 26-28, 21-25, 21-25, to finish sixth in the AVC Cup for Women.
Monday in front of a supportive audience at the Philsports Arena. After last Sunday’s exciting 21-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-18, 15-12 triumph against Australia, the women’s national team displayed no signs of exhaustion as they gave the Taiwanese everything they could handle in the lengthy opening set before losing.
With team captain Chang Li-Wen in charge, Chinese-Taipei took control of the following two sets and was successful in keeping the Philippines’ star spiker Tots Carlos scoreless in the third.
The sixth-place finish for the host nation, which included three victories, was its best in a continental competition since taking fifth place in the 1983 Third Asian Championship in Fukuoka, Japan.
