It has been announced that “Pinoy Sakuragi” will resume playing basketball.

It appears that Marc Pingris will end his retirement to join the Imus SV Squad in the MPBL.

On their Facebook page, the ball club posted a picture of Pingris holding his uniform to herald his comeback.

Pingris, 41, makes a comeback after leaving the PBA in 2021 after playing for Magnolia.

Later that year, after joining Nueva Ecija for the MPBL Invitational, a small offseason tournament, Pingris initially decided to come out of retirement. However, that plan ultimately failed to materialize.

It is likely that this return will occur. The Pilipinas Super League commissioner, Pingris, just submitted his resignation.

Pingris was even included on the Pampanga Giant Lanterns’ roster for this season, but team administrator Alan Trinidad said that his participation has not yet been decided.

With Imus, Pingris will collaborate with former PBA players Jayjay Helterbrand and Mac Cardona.

Pingris had a successful PBA career, playing for both the San Miguel Beermen and the Magnolia franchise and won nine PBA championships in total.
