Baltazar records a triple-double in the MPBL as Pampanga defeats QC to win for the seventh straight time

MANILA, Philippines – In the Fifth Season of the OKBet-MPBL (Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League) on Wednesday at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay, Pampanga continued its winning streak while Pasay remained in the game. Archie Concepcion’s strong shooting and Justine Baltazar’s triple-double helped the team win.

The two-division, 29-team tournament’s elimination phase saw Pampanga overcome Quezon City Gaz N Go, 115 to 79, to raise their record to 9 to 0.

Baltazar received the best player award for his performance, which included 16 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists. Concepcion, another legendary local player, finished with 25 points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals.

Quezon City dropped from 3 to 9. This was despite Reymond Penafiel’s performance of 31 points.

In a different match, Pasay outscored Paranaque by 21 points in the fourth quarter, winning 98-79 and advancing to a 7 to 3 record thanks to the participation of six players.

AJ Coronel, a former guard for Perpetual Help, scored 14 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and sent out five assists to lead Pasay with 19 points, six rebounds, and four assists.

Jaypee Belencion, Jeric Serrano, Laurenz Victoria (12 points each), Achie Inigo (12 points), and Jeric Victoria (11 points) also scored in the game.

Pari Llagas contributed 17 points, Jayboy Solis contributed 16 points, and Keith Pido contributed 10 points for a 6 on 6 overall record for Paranaque.

Sherwin Concepcion and Agem Miranda each had double-doubles as Oriental Mindoro narrowly defeated Manila, 80 to 78, in the game’s opening contest.

Concepcion led the Disiplinados with 23 points and 11 rebounds while Miranda chipped in with 22 points and 10 assists.

CJ Tolentino scored 11 points, and Rodel Vaygan added 14 more.

Kyle Neypes, Adrian Celada, Charles Lazarte, and Mark Acosta were the top scorers for Manila, each with 16 points, followed by Neypes with 14, Celada with 15, and Lazarte with 14.
