In the 7-1 demolition of Rangers at Ibrox, Mohamed Salah made Champions League history by scoring a hat-trick in an unprecedented amount of time. The star player from Egypt started the game on the bench. With 22 seconds left, he came on and scored three goals in six minutes.

In that 7-1 destruction of Rangers in the Champions League, substitute Salah scored three goals in six minutes and twelve seconds, the quickest hat-trick in the competition’s history.

Salah, who wasn’t included in the starting lineup, single-handedly increased the score from 3-1 to 6-1 in a matter of minutes. He did this by first prodding the ball home from an angle, then stopping the ball to beat two defenders before putting it in the net, and finally sweeping home a trademark finish from the edge of the box. For the first time since 2012, Diogo Jota, who assisted on all three goals, made the assist.

Bafetimbi Gomis had held the record, scoring three goals in eight minutes for Lyon against Dinamo Zagreb during the 2011–12 Champions League group stage, but Salah broke it with his hat-trick timing of six minutes and twelve seconds. Salah also needed the fewest number of touches to complete his hat-trick, which is a record in the history of the Champions League.

What then can we await for Salah to do next? Salah, who is back in goal-scoring form, will likely start and aim to shine when the Reds take on Pep Guardiola’s Man City in the ensuing Premier League showdown.

More from Mo Salah

With the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 at hand, this signals greater hope for the Egyptian National Football team. With one of the best footballers in the league, a record breaker and setter at that, Mo Salah is truly a player to watch at FIFA.

When the team’s center forward drops deep, Mohamed Salah, one of the league’s fastest forwards, routinely goes past the opposition defenders. Salah has the flexibility to modify his playing style to meet the demands of the team. He is capable of playing on the right wing in a 4-3-3 and as the number 9 in a 4-2-3-1.

The Egyptian wizard can play with both feet, but he prefers to cut inside with his left foot. His 16 goals this season have been scored with his left hand 13 times compared to just three with his right. Thus, it is vital to spot a goal-scoring prophet like Salah by their foot choice and the way they cut inside on their left side to take advantage of shooting angles. However, the foot is not the only problem. Range is also important.

Salah scores a variety of goals, including 30-yard rockets and tap-ins from four yards out. He can carefully caress the ball into the goal from anywhere, even after defeating four to five opponents.

Salah is yet another undervalued creator. As he’s gotten older, he’s really improved at it, and he’s on course to have his most unique season ever. The Egyptian is an expert in accurately and weighting through-balls, crosses, and passes into the penalty box. In addition, he is excellent at placing passes in the direction of players like Mane or Jota.

Salah’s tremendous poise in possession, dazzling footwork that makes defenders scream in pain, and exceptional spatial awareness make him impossible to stop in the final third. He has received the most forward passes of any Premier League player this season, despite being closely marked by Liverpool’s opponents in each of their games.

The gifted Liverpool winger scored twice in three games while playing in the UEFA Champions League in the years 2022 and 2023. In the last seven games played in the recent and current Premier league, Salah has scored twice.

Salah makes a big difference on defense. Only two players this year have put their opponents under more pressure in the attacking third than the Liverpool player: Neal Maupay of Brighton and Teemu Pukki of Norwich.
