MANILA, Philippines – Halfway through a seven-game series, it will either be Rain or Shine’s equalizer or TNT’s breakaway.
After a thrilling 110-109 match in the Dasmarinas Arena in Cavite on Sunday, the Elasto Painters are back in the hunt and will try to make the most of their opportunity to play the Tropang Giga in Game Four at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
If they had lost the PBA Governors’ Cup road showcase in Cavite, things would have turned out quite differently.
Aaron Fuller, an import from Rain or Shine, recognized the challenging task his team would have faced if they had dropped to a 0–3 deficit in their PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinal series. Fuller recognized the gravity of the situation after thinking back on their tight escape in Game 3, when the Elasto Painters defeated TNT in an exciting 110-109 triumph. Even while it wasn’t completely impossible, Rain or Shine would have had a difficult time recovering from such a deficit.
Fuller underlined that their hopes of winning the series depended on their ability to win Game 3. The win gave Rain or Shine the impetus they needed to go further in addition to averting a terrifying 0–3 situation. The Elasto Painters are now in a better position to make a comeback and maintain their hopes of making it to the finals, as the series stands at 1-2. Now, the emphasis is on preserving their will to fight and capitalizing on the momentum they established.
However, the Elasto Painters are within striking distance of the Tropang Giga thanks to the one-point squeaker, and they’re eager to take advantage of the chance to improve their standing even more.
Yeng Guiao, the head coach of Rain or Shine, was confident following his team’s pivotal win against TNT in Game 3 of their PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinal series. The victory, according to Guiao, not only allowed the Elasto Painters to rejoin the series but also increased their confidence in their ability to battle and eventually defeat a formidable team like TNT. With the series deficit reduced to 1-2, Guiao and his team are now confident in their ability to move further.
Guiao emphasized the game’s difficulty, admitting that it was a challenging matchup against a formidable TNT team supported by a standout import. Rain or Shine showed tenacity and resolve in the face of adversity, passing what he called a test of character. An important accomplishment for the Elasto Painters was their ability to remain calm and persevere in the face of such a strong foe.
The coach underlined that Rain or Shine’s ability to hold their own in the semifinals was demonstrated by their ability to survive this fierce matchup against a very talented squad. Now as the series momentum is beginning to change, the Elasto Painters are more self-assured and ready to keep fighting since they know they have what it takes to advance TNT in the series.
The E-Painters would try to get even better than they had in the prior two games.
Building on Rain or Shine’s recent performance in Game 3 of the PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals is crucial, Aaron Fuller stressed. After laboring in the previous game, Fuller made a huge contribution with 26 points and 16 rebounds, emphasizing the necessity for ongoing development as the team advances in the series. His outstanding play was crucial in the Elasto Painters’ first semifinal victory, which reduced the series deficit to 1-2 against TNT.
According to Fuller, the squad played two strong halves, which helped them overcome obstacles and win in the end. He underlined how crucial it is to keep up the same level of attention and energy in subsequent games in order to sustain their winning streak.
ROS’ primary import defender and stopper, Caelan Tiongson, is recovering from an injury, and TNT veterans Jayson Castro and Kelly Williams are also dealing with health issues.
Even without these players, the series has been excellent, with Fuller receiving backing from several ROS residents and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Calvin Oftana, Rey Nambatac, and RR Pogoy spearheading the effort for TNT.
