Leo Austria is always welcome to attend San Miguel Beer games as an advisor and take a seat on the teamwork surface.

The Beermen are really just going to have to wait for the 64-year-old champion to re-join the crew throughout games, according to SMB team manager Gee Abanilla.

The San Miguel executive made the remark on Sunday, following the Beermen’s thrilling 100-98 victory over the Magnolia Hotshots to secure their fourth consecutive victory in the PBA Governors Cup.

He is welcome to attend games and watch from the sidelines. They are simply awaiting his arrival.

Austria has not shown up for any of the games of the season-ending tournament since he was hired as a team consultant and handed the coaching duties to Jorge Gallent.

The Sairaya, Quezon native was last seen playing with the Beermen in Game 4 of the Commissioner’s Cup semifinals, which came after the group was defeated by the visiting Bay Area Dragons.

The coach of the nine-time PBA champions has not returned SPIN.ph’s texts or phone calls.

However, Abanilla claimed that occasionally he gets to speak with the seasoned coach.

The San Miguel team manager said that they talk to each other for simple updates about their lives.
