In Friday’s PBA Governors’ Cup victory over Magnolia Chicken Timplados for TNT, Roger Pogoy extended his offensive hot run.

Pogoy led the Tropang GIGA to a 93-85 victory over the Hotshots with 20 points on 8 of 16 field goal attempts. He has now tallied 20 points or more in each of the team’s last four games, three of which it has won.

Pogoy was quick to claim the glory for his offensive explosion for himself.

Jojo Lastimosa, head coach, politely disagreed, stating that Pogoy’s offensive output was in no way accidental.

Pogoy has always been modest, according to Lastimosa. They have been playing with him since they were classmates at FEU. Lastimosa also said that Pogoy is grateful for what he has now because it is the result of his hard work.

After Friday’s game, Pogoy has now shot a scorching 33 of 60 times from the field, or 55 percent. This featured a 9-of-11 performance in TNT’s opening matchup with Phoenix Super LPG.

His performance against Rain or Shine in TNT’s second game was mirrored by his 8 of 16 shooting on Friday.

Game Recap TNT vs Magnolia Chicken Timplados

RR Pogoy’s 20 points and a decisive 8-0 run in the fourth quarter, which allowed the Tropang GIGA to recover from a loss to sister team NLEX defeated the rallying Hotshots.

Mikey Williams and Calvin Oftana helped TNT create a 16-point lead at one point in the game on its way to a third victory in four games. Import Jalen Hudson also contributed to that run.

TNT coach Jojo Lastimosa remarked, there were words that were delivered to the team even if they lost that game because for the most part against NLEX, they played terrific basketball.

In their loss to the NLEX team, the Tropang GIGA had a 15-point advantage, but they were able to hold onto it this time.

After the margin shrank to just two points, 85-83, Hudson ignited a TNT reaction. With 1:49 remaining, Pogoy completed that run with a post move to give the Tropang GIGA a 93-83 lead.

With 14 points and seven rebounds, Williams made up for his two-point performance against NLEX. For the Tropang GIGA, Oftana added 14 points and 10 rebounds.

With 24 points, Paul Lee led Magnolia, and his 11 points in the fourth helped the Hotshots come back from an 82-66 deficit.
