San Miguel attempted a second rout, this time against Terrafirma in the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup at the Ynares Center, winning 122-102.
A Beermen’s lopsided victory, in which they outscored their opponents by as many as 22 points, gave them a 3-0 win-loss record and gave them a tie for 2nd spot with NLEX.
Contrary to the previous second game, Terrafirma hung tough before San Miguel took a decisive lead in the fourth, keeping the score close throughout.
San Miguel was able to pull away thanks to import Cameron Clark, who managed to finish with 31 points and 14 rebounds.
CJ Perez made a significant contribution 20 points and 11 rebounds to the Beermen’s success with a double-double.
That will always take place. When Terrafirma led 15-9 in the first quarter and trailed 88-78 going into the fourth, San Miguel Coach Jorge Gallent said, ‘we are not invincible’.
Mo Tautuaa led the way with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Allyn Bulanadi had another strong game for San Miguel with 14 points. Jericho Cruz was dismissed from the game in the second half for taunting.
For Terrafirma, which finished with a 1-2 record, Jordan Williams had 30 points and 8 rebounds. For Dyip, Juami Tiongson scored 20 points.
