MANILA, Philippines – Smart Araneta Coliseum, TNT Tropang Giga will try to buck the pendulum that has been the PBA Governors’ Cup final series as Barangay Ginebra will be looking to continue the run.

In Friday’s Game 6, again at the Big Dome, the victor will hold a crucial 3 to 2 series lead and have a chance to win the championship.

The game begins at 5:45 p.m. with both teams eager to start the game in pursuit of what will effectively be a twice-to-beat advantage moving forward.

Coach Tim Cone’s Chargers would be one victory away from making it a three-peat in the last game of the season if they were to maintain the back-and-forth sequence.

With momentum and a psychological advantage going into the fifth round, the Tropang Giga, who have established themselves as a formidable opponent, may prove to be even more formidable.

The Tropang Giga defeated the Gin Kings, 116 to 104, to even the series at 2 to 2 on Sunday despite the absence of RR Pogoy due to a fractured pinky. They did this by draining a league-high 21, setting a record, in a final game.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, the conference’s Best Import, set the tone by acting assertively and aggressively, which gave the TNT marksmen a clear path to success.

The issue with our previous game was the same spacing namin, according to TNT coach Jojo Lastimosa.

After being crowned as the best reinforcement, Hollis-Jefferson put on a dominant performance with 36 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

As of right now, Hollis-Jefferson has the upper hand in their game against Justin Brownlee, causing chaos on offense and making a difference with his defense of the Ginebra import.

With the tenacious “D” of Hollis-Jefferson and five personal fouls, Brownlee was held to 28 points in Game 4.

However, Brownlee has a history of success as a competitor, so he will always be a threat.

Moreover, the outcome of Game 5 may depend on which team is able to alter their strategy more effectively.

The two coaches have been engaged in a virtual game of chess, with Lastimosa holding his own against Tim Cone, his former coach, at least through the first four games. Cone acknowledges Lastimosa has been flourishing.

But as the series approaches a critical point, it is unclear whether the side will continue to fight without quitting.
