MANILA, Philippines – The NLEX Road Warriors will be their opponent when they square off against them on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, and their major objective is to concentrate on improving their play, competitiveness, and chemistry with import Cameron Oliver.
At 5:45 p.m., the game begins. Reyes will compete against Frankie Lim, a former team manager for the Smart/PLDT club and a current PBA coach.
Curiously, after the Road Warriors started off 2 to 0 in the conference, they lost consecutive games when Lim took over as head coach.
Under interim coach Adonis Tierra, NLEX defeated Rain or Shine by a score of 96 to 90 and Blackwater by a score of 105 to 102.
Lim’s entrance caused the Road Warriors’ losses to the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters and the Magnolia Hotshots, both of which were 111 to 97, to become more similar.
Lim and the Road Warriors may present a risky task for TNT since they are desperate for a big victory.
With Mikey Williams and Jayson Castro both back in the game, the Tropang Giga (2 to 1) nevertheless started out as the favorite.
In their 110 to 91 victories over the Elasto Painters, Castro made his conference debut. In just 14 minutes of play, the two-time FIBA Asia Mythical Five awardee contributed 10 points, six assists, and four rebounds.
In those brief minutes, he undoubtedly made his presence felt. Later, he spoke about the value of seizing every chance.
Castro stated, “Hindi lahat nabibigyan ng pagkakataon [not everyone will be given a chance], and given the opportunity, you have to give it your best shot. Sayang eh [it’s a waste].”
The main objective is to make the playoffs, and then we’ll take it from there, he continued, “Move on na kami [we’re moving on] (after losing the Philippine Cup Finals against San Miguel Beer). Panibagong pagkakataon ito [this is a new chance]”
Getting the team back to a highly competitive form is the TNT coach’s first priority.
Reyes remarked, “We need to play a complete 48 minutes, and we’re not there yet.
