Meralco’s guard Aaron Black was sorely missed in Antipolo as the Bolts lost their first loss of the season in the PBA Philippine Cup on Saturday. The young Black hurt his left wrist the last time out and sat out the team’s 78 to 71 loss to TNT Tropang Giga at the Ynares Center. As TNT rallies to defeat Meralco, see RR Pogoy remain calm in the finish. The injury to his shooting hand was undoubtedly disappointing for the Ateneo guard, who had just matched his PBA career high of 25 points in the team’s 90 to 74 triumph over Converge the night before. The injury to Black’s wrist occurred during the game versus the FiberXers. “Naitukod ko siya [I built it] during the game. And I thought it was nothing because I was still able to play it,” reFormer Meralco coach Norman Black’s son. He began to have pain in his hand the next day. Aaron Black hits 9 of 14 against Converge before missing the next game. Black said, “Hindi ko na siya mai-galaw. [I can’t move it]” “May pain na siya,” he says. However, the injury is minor and will not keep Black out of play for long. Meralco’s next game is against NorthPort on Thursday, and the third-year guard intends to play.
