Rondae Hollis-Jefferson stated that he would like to play in the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup of the 49th Season of the PBA again on TNT.

According to the 29-year-old two-time Best Import, he has nothing on the table at the moment, but he is certain that he wants to go back to the Tropang Giga.

After Tropang Giga defeated Barangay Ginebra 95-85 in Game 6 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum to win the Governors’ Cup, TNT team manager Jojo Lastimosa stated that the goal is to bring Hollis-Jefferson back.

Hollis-Jefferson expressed his interest in returning after learning about Lastimosa’s statement.

With 31 points, 16 rebounds, 8 assists, and two steals, Hollis-Jefferson put on another memorable performance to cap off the conference that saw him acclaimed as top reinforcement for the second time.

He contributed to TNT’s 10-0 final run, which he really started with consecutive baskets that permanently changed the course of the game.

Hollis-Jefferson stated that he wants to enjoy the title and is not currently considering the future.

“It’s up to the bosses. But right now, my team is waiting for me. We are champions. So we are going to enjoy the night,” he said.

Meanwhile, given that he never imagined he would still be able to win an award at this stage of his career, Jayson Castro stated his most recent accomplishment as the Finals MVP of the PBA 49th Season Governors’ Cup is something remarkable.

Castro, who finished with 13 points, two rebounds, and six assists in Game Six as TNT defeated Barangay Ginebra 95-85, became the oldest player to win the Finals MVP award at the age of 38.

Additionally, it was Castro’s first time winning the award alone; Jimmy Alapag shared his two prior victories, in the 2010 Fiesta Cup finals and the 2011 Commissioner’s Cup finals.

The MVP said, “2011? Napaghahalata na yata ako,” said Castro smiling when reminded that his last Finals MVP was 13 years ago. “That time medyo bata pa ako.” “Sobrang na-appreciate ko, sa age kong ganito,”.

Castro claimed that the entire team had numerous personal and physical issues throughout the campaign, therefore receiving the individual prize was not without its difficulties.

Castro was not an exception, especially when it came to the physical aspect, stating that he needed to wear protective gear to preserve his right knee in particular.
According to Castro, TNT also had to defeat a Barangay Ginebra squad that possessed enough weapons to take home a title.

“Sobrang sarap ng feeling. Against Ginebra na sobrang dami ng fans nila. At the same time, Brownlee na sobrang galing. ‘Yung mga rookies nila, sila [Stephen] Holt. Sobrang special ng championship na ‘to lalo na sa akin dahil sa mga pinagdaanan namin,” said Castro.

Castro insisted that without his teammates, he would not have been the Finals MVP.
