Chet Holmgren, Jabari Smith, and Paolo Banchero were said to be the top three draft choices for this year’s NBA draft. The order in how these three are going to be picked will depend on the team and what their needs are. Many think that the Houston Rockets are all set for getting Banchero. But a recent ESPN report may suggest something differently. According to the report, the Rockets may be actually considering Jaden Ivey to be their No. 3 pick and the franchise is supposedly “intrigued” about the idea of placing Ivey alongside Jalen Green to form possibly the most explosive backcourt in the league. According to ESPN, “The Rockets pick third in what many consider to be a three-player draft, making this a relatively easy choice on face value. (Jaden) Ivey’s candidacy is also under consideration here, as the idea of constructing arguably the most explosive backcourt in the NBA is said to be intriguing for Rockets brass.” Now one should always remember that ’tis the season for draft misinformation, so reports such as this one may not be 100% true. But it’s also important to note that the Oklahoma City Thunder are said to be eyeing Ivey too. There are also reports that say the Rockets may be looking into a trade down, so they could be making efforts to throw rival teams off Houston’s scent.  What do you think about all this? It’s interesting to know how fans feel especially if Houston did end up drafting Ivey instead of Holmgren, Smith, or Banchero.
