STAPLES CENTER, Los Angeles – LeBron James scored 43 points in the Lakers’ 121-115 victory over the Hornets on Monday, moving closer to the NBA’s all-time scoring record, but he’ll have to wait before scoring any more. He won’t be playing against the Miami Heat on Wednesday night, according to the team, because of a non-COVID sickness.

James will surpass Kareem Abdul-record Jabbar’s of 38,387 career points this season, most likely before the All-Star break, barring a prolonged injury absence. The current state of the race as of Monday’s events is shown below.

Currently, James averages 29 points each game. When the Oklahoma City Thunder visit his house on February 7, he is anticipated to shatter the record for most points scored if he maintains that rate.

The Lakers’ home games against the Milwaukee Bucks on February 9 and their away games against the Golden State Warriors on February 11 are both scheduled to air on US national television, so the NBA won’t object if James misses a few more games.

Regarding the possibility of LeBron breaking his record before the 2021–22 season, Adbul-Jabbar said, “I don’t regard records as personal accomplishments, but more as human achievements.” If one person can accomplish something that has never been done, that means we all have a chance to do it. Roger Bannister broke the four-minute mile back in 1954, and since then, not only have 1,400 runners beaten that time, but the new record is 17 seconds faster. If LeBron breaks my record, I will be right there to support him.

The Warriors hope that Steph Curry will return from his shoulder subluxation on January 13th 2023

The good news just keeps flowing in for the blazing Golden State Warriors, who are now riding a season-long five-game winning streak. According to Warriors GM Bob Myers in an interview with Bay Area radio station 95.7 The Game, Curry’s shoulder injury rehabilitation is anticipated to occur during the Warriors’ Jan. 13 game against the San Antonio Spurs.

Curry hasn’t played since subluxing his shoulder against the Indiana Pacers on December 14. The injury, which did not require surgery, was anticipated to keep him out of commission for about a month. Curry seems to be on schedule for his next examination this weekend. Curry will have another evaluation this weekend and is back on the floor for non-contact drills.

He is working out on the court and will be examined this weekend, according to Myers. “The two-week mark to evaluate him would be this weekend, but there hasn’t been any setbacks or anything like that. The first road game is on Friday against San Antonio. That would be a hope, that’s what we’d be shooting for, something in that range for him to be back. He’s been — not in contact — but he’s been out there doing all his stuff and he looks like the same guy.

Curry’s injury occurred at the beginning of the Warriors’ catastrophic 1-5 road trip; by the time they arrived back in the Bay Area at the conclusion last month, they had dropped to a 15-18 record. It appeared as though the Warriors’ poor season would only grow worse given the likelihood that their best player would be sidelined for a lengthy amount of time due to injury.

Instead, they managed to withstand Curry’s absence and climb up into ninth place in the tight Western Conference by maintaining their stellar home record (17-2) and taking advantage of a relatively light schedule. They are now only two games behind the Dallas Mavericks, who are in fourth place.

When Curry returns to the court, the Warriors will be hopeful he can pick up where he left off. Curry was on pace to achieve the desired 50/40/90 season before being ill, averaging 30 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game. The first 26 games of this season featured some of his best basketball ever.

Curry, on the other hand, is content that his non-shooting shoulder was hurt since it should make his recovery easier. Similar to when he broke his hand, but with a stronger sense of confidence in his ability to still shoot the ball.
